Beautiful appliques that can be used to decorate style accessories are created from genuine leather and leather-replacing materials. Floral appliqués made from foamiran look no less original; three-dimensional parts can be made from it for decorative flowers, baskets and decorations for interior items.
From thin wire twisted into a spiral, blanks of petals and leaves are made, intertwined with woolen threads. The yarn is used for crocheting or knitting flowers, after which, using the appliqué technique, you can create interesting compositions and floral decor.
Crafts and appliqués made from pieces of multi-colored leather, connected to each other by gluing or stitching, look elegant. They are used to decorate clothes and shoes, bags and belts, and are great for creating stylish jewelry such as headbands and hair clips.
Postcard with wonderful daffodils
You will need thick half-cardboard in three shades: green, snow-white and yellow. And also an orange marker. Use a glue stick, it won't make our main working surface so wet. For each flower, cut out 2 circles of white paper with a diameter of about 6-7 cm. You can circle the bottom of the cup or draw with a compass. Draw three approximate stripes, dividing the circle into 3 parts. Next are the rounded petals.
Prepare the required number of blanks.
Apply texture to each: carefully press vertical lines with scissors.
Bend their edges with a pencil. To speed up the process, bend several elements at the same time.
Cut out circles for the middle from yellow paper. Color the edges with an orange marker. You can also cut them slightly with nail scissors, imitating stamens.
Next, give them a bowl shape. Place the pencil on the obtuse corner and press gently. Make sure that the middle is wide enough (you still need to glue it onto the workpieces).
We assemble a flower from two light samples (arranged in a checkerboard pattern) and one yellow one.
Cut out long, sharp leaves from green. For texture, we bend them vertically. We make the stems from narrow strips. We roll them up into a tube. Paste everything onto a contrasting background. The gift for mom is ready.
Fabric and textiles
Fabric appliqués are used to decorate home interiors and create unusual and original compositions. The best materials for the creative process are those that do not require additional processing, but you can use different textures and textures:
- soft fleece and thin felt; if desired, they can be replaced with inexpensive viscose materials, especially if the crafts will be made for a kindergarten or school;
- cotton and cotton fabric (jeans), they require certain processing, they can be combined with other materials, decorative decorations;
- satin and grosgrain ribbons; flowers are most often made from them using the kanzashi technique, skillfully combining colors and shades and creating voluminous and decorative flowers.
When creating decorative appliqués, you need to choose high-quality textiles that will highlight the impeccable composition. Floral installations made using the appliqué technique are suitable for decorating clothes and creating stylish accessories that even well-known brands and manufacturers do not offer.
Paper applications
Paper remains the most convenient and easy-to-process, affordable material used for appliqués. The quality of paper flowers and their appearance will depend entirely on the structure and density, properties of the selected paper, which can be of different types:
- colored paper and cardboard, office paper (thicker and used for printers or copying machines);
- soft crepe paper (corrugated), it makes excellent voluminous flowers, soft and colorful napkins.
Special quilling kits, which are thin and long strips of colored paper, deserve special attention. You can make them yourself and use them to create amazing compositions, graceful and elegant appliqués, voluminous and very beautiful.

Corrugated paper is a bright, colorful material. The works from it turn out very beautiful, light, airy!
To make a flower panel yourself, you need to prepare in advance:
